Kshetrabasi Nayak, (24), is residing in Baiganapala village, Ghatagaon block of Keonjhar district. He lost his father in 2017. After the demise of his father, the burden of his four-member family came upon his shoulder as he was the eldest son.  Her mother Basanti Nayak is daily labour. One younger brother and one sister also support Kshetrabasi and his mother in agricultural work. Khetrabasi was enrolled as a member of the Woodpecker Eco-Saver Youth Network of PECUC and provided training on Apiculture. After completion of training, he got a Beekeeping box with the “SAPTAFENI” variety of Bee for cultivation from PECUC. After six months of training, Khetrabasi started beekeeping and harvested 2 litres of honey at a time in the initial phase. He sold the honey in the local markets at the rate of Rs 800 per litre. In this amount, he purchased another new beekeeping box from a local carpenter. He is planning to set up more beekeeping boxes for expansion of his beekeeping cultivation which would help him to manage the financial needs of his family.  Now the financial condition of his family is better than before
