“I WAS SAD, but nobody came to my help. PECUC shone in my life as I got readmission in school” - says a happy Subash in reply to a question. Earlier, he was having a good time in school. He was punctual in studies. After the school hour, Subash would join children in marry making. They would enjoy playing games in the water, catch fish, move to the neighbouring jungle, and climb trees for plumbing fruits out of fun and curiosity. Unfortunately, he breaks his right hand on that sad after noon. It costs his poor parents financially heavily. As per the advise of the doctor, Subash took rest and abstain himself from school for two months. Temporary discontinuation from school breeds a habit and Subash continue to remain absent for next 3 months. After that when he thought of attending the school, he was dismayed to find his name taken out of the school register. There was nobody to support the little child and he was out of school and education until he was identified and enrolled in Sradha Bhawan (SB centre) by PECUC volunteer in the month of April 2012. The SB centre allows him reinvent his touch with his studies - take part in curricular and co-curricular activities as said by the village volunteer Joshna. Subash is back to school. He studies in class V and wants to pursue higher education and get a better position in life.
