STRONGER VOICE TO EXCLUDED CHILDREN IN GOVT. & NGO POLICIES AND PROGRAMMES
Objective: Improved status of the most socially excluded children in 30 villages of 5 GPs of Keonjhar district with their voices heard & recognized institutionally formal and informal structures.
Activities:
- Introductory workshops on social exclusion and children
- Design and put in place a framework for evaluating the impact of the project (scale of exclusion)
- Awareness generation initiatives related to targeted children, families and communities to combat social exclusion
- Organise training workshops on ‘child rights focussing on exclusion’at District level for duty bearers(VEC, CPC, health care providers, teachers, ICDS functionaries and PRI members);
- Formation and consolidation of children groups by involving excluded children
- Identification and capacity building of community members amongst socially excluded sections to facilitate awareness and access to various governmental schemes
- Facilitate interaction between children’s organisations& structures of local governance and duty bearers at district, state and national level and form task force;
- Awareness generation of media persons leading to formation of a network/core group of sensitized media persons by championing the cause of socially excluded children.
- Train children to generate IEC material, for dissemination through electronic and print media
