Block Demonstration of Rice (BDR)Bringing Green Revolution To Eastern India (BGREI)

Project Period: 2010 - 2012

Objective of the Programme:

To develop the practice of Line Sowing among the farming fraternity in the block by material, fiscal supports, capacity building and awareness initiatives.

Aim of the Project:

Reduce the gap between the actual and potential productivity of rice in the district by 50%

leading to an average increase of about 0.5 tones per hector of crop yield of rice.

To promote line sowing/planting for overcoming (a) various stresses, (b) input use efficiency,

and (c) scientific crop management for increased production.
