Title of the Project : Suraksha - Preventing child trafficking for Labour by strengthening family, community and institutions
Duration – September/2023 to August/2024
Strategic Objectives (SOs):
- Children in the ages of 10 to 18 years in the target Panchayats in select source Districtsof Rayagada and Nabarangapur in the state of Odisha experience reduced risks of trafficking for labour .
Intermediate results (IRs):
IR 1.1: Gram Panchayat in the target source area prioritizes and take preventive and gate-keeping actions.
IR 1.2: Improved coordination and convergence among Community, Community-Based Organizations, and Government system to create a safe and enabling environment for at risk children.
Operational Area: Tadama GP of Rayagada block of Rayagada district and Dengaguda GP of Papadahandi block of Nabrangpur district of Odisha
Activities
- Vulnerability mapping [Vulnerability, Resources, Trafficking pathways and referrals], analysis & report preparation of 2 districts
- Capacity Building of stakeholders
- Development & review of training manual of elected panchayat raj institution functionaries on child friendly panchayat
- Workshop of children on child trafficking for labour issues and prevention
- Workshop of parents on child trafficking for labour issues and prevention
- Training of Panchayat Level Child Protection Committee (PLCPC) and Panchayt Standing Committee Members
- Develop and distribution of information, education, communication materials
- One day training for Para Legal Volunteer
- Staff capacity building training
